Kansas State's volleyball team rallied from a set down to beat Missouri 3-2 at Columbia, clinching third place in the Big 12. K-State won 21-25, 25-19, 12-25, 25-20, 15-12.
The Wildcats (23-6, 13-5 Big 12) got 22 kills from Rita Liliom and a career high 11 from JuliAnne Chisholm.
TOPEKA ROADRUNNERS forward and team captain Matt Hartmann has committed to play hockey for Bemidji State University next season.
Hartmann has nine goals for the RoadRunners in 17 games this season. He registered 20 goals for the team last season when the RoadRunners captured the South Division championship.
Football: Vikings' Allen fined but not suspended
Minnesota Vikings defensive end Jared Allen will not be suspended for a spate of late hits.
Coach Brad Childress said he was told by the NFL that Allen will be fined $25,000, but not punished further. Allen was summoned to the league office Tuesday to talk about his play. Defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier went with him.
Allen was fined $50,000 for two late hits earlier this month on Houston quarterback Matt Schaub, one that injured his knee. The following week against Green Bay, Allen was called for roughing the passer after knocking down Aaron Rodgers
Childress defended his player, arguing that the speed at which Allen rushes makes it difficult to stop in time.

The Arizona Cardinals declined to consider releasing Edgerrin James when the running back's agent inquired about the possibility, the team's general manager said Wednesday.
Rod Graves said he received a call from agent Drew Rosenhaus three weeks ago after James was benched in favor of rookie Tim Hightower and didn't play a down in Arizona's 34-13 victory at St. Louis.
According to Graves, Rosenhaus asked if the team would consider releasing James "and we declined it as a consideration."
The Seahawks placed Patrick Kerney on injured reserve Wednesday, ending the season for Seattle's top pass rusher. Kerney had shoulder surgery earlier this month. He injured it in a win at San Francisco on Oct. 26.

The NCAA says the men's basketball Final Four will be played at the new Dallas Cowboys stadium in Arlington in 2014. It's also awarded the 2016 men's Final Four to Houston. Those games will be played at Reliant Stadium, home of the Houston Texans.
