ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) - Detroit Lions starting quarterback Dan Orlovsky says he may need thumb surgery for two fractures and a torn ligament.
Orlovsky hopes to return later in the season, and coach Rod Marinelli didn't say Friday which of Detroit's remaining quarterbacks will start against Jacksonville on Sunday.
Daunte Culpepper signed a two-year deal with the winless Lions on Tuesday and then practiced the next day for the first time this year. The 31-year-old Culpepper was a three-time Pro Bowl quarterback in Minnesota before a knee injury stunted his career in 2005.
Drew Stanton is in his second season in the NFL and hasn't played this year.
Marinelli also said center Dominic Raiola will miss Sunday's game with a broken right thumb, breaking his streak of 104 consecutive starts.
