Ex-Lion joins Bears

Tight end Michael Gaines and the Chicago Bears agreed on a one-year contract Monday. Gaines was a seventh-round draft pick of Carolina in 2004 and has 79 catches for 810 yards and five touchdowns in his career with the Panthers, Buffalo Bills and Detroit Lions . He caught 23 passes for 260 yards and a TD for the Lions last season. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
