--Cornerback Brian Kelly was in uniform but did not play Sunday. Coach Rod Marinelli said it was a "three-safety game." That means when the Vikings ran a one-receiver set, the Lions used three safeties. But when the Lions used two cornerbacks, they used Leigh Bodden and Travis Fisher. After Fisher left with a neck injury in the fourth quarter, they put in Ramzee Robinson. Marinelli said Robinson's legs were warmer because he had been playing special teams all game while Kelly had been sitting. "No comment," Kelly said. "I don't have anything good for you to write about. If you want a story, you've got to go ask them."
--Marinelli admits he is stunned the Lions are 0-13. "I am, especially after the preseason we had and how fast we played," he said. "I am. It is surprising to me. But you deal with it and move on and try to get better." Asked if the Lions will be the worst team ever if they go 0-16, he said: "I guess by records, yeah." How does he rectify his belief in himself and the team with the reality of the performance and the record? "It's just me," he said. "It's what I believe. I go right back to work. I don't like some of the things that I see, but I know they're correctable and there's some things I do like and I keep working on those things as much as I can."
