A 33-point second half explosion was the difference when the Saratoga frosh-soph Football secured no worse than a .500 season with a 46-33 win over Milpitas.
The Falcons, on the road to face the Trojans, broke open a game tied 13-13 at intermission with five second-half touchdowns four of them coming in the third quarter.
Chris Guengerich got things going for Saratoga when he returned the second-half kickoff 54 yards. Troy Doles capitalized with a 34-yard touchdown run, and the Falcons were on their way.
Marcus Hoffman scored on a 12-yard run, Kevin Smith on a 44-yard dash and Chris Borgia on a 2-yard blast and the Falcons had taken over control of the Football game.
Saratoga had taken the early lead on a 20-yard TD toss from Smith to Guengerich, but the Trojans answered with a score. Doles, Hoffman and Kevin Darchuk led the Saratoga ground attack that culminated in a touchdown by Hoffman, but once again Milpitas answered to make it 13-13 at the half.
The Saratoga line of Jon Mastman, Alex Polcyn, James Reed, Steven Leslie, Borgia and Matt Casas led the charge up front.
On the defensive side, Polcyn was the leading tackler at defensive end and Leslie, Mastman, Mitch Faylor and Zack Heerwagen were solid in the defensive line.
Guengerich stopped a Milpitas drive with an interception.
Dillan Pak and Miles Emerson, injured early in the season, each made their return and were factors defensively along with Hoffman, Kyle Clark, Smith, Doles, Casas and Karthik Annaamalai.
