Filed under: Lions, NFC NorthThe good news keeps on rollin’ out of Detroit: first, the team is guaranteed not to lose this week (yeah, they’re on their bye), and Matt Millen has been “Tatum Bell-ed,” thus insuring an end to the futility that has become the Lions organization.

Maybe that’s overstating it a bit — it’s hard to undo more than eight years of hardcore ineptitude in a season — but, if nothing else, it’s a move in the right direction. Plus, the fans can take solace in the fact that owner William Clay Ford Sr. has lifted the moratorium on ignoring the people who buy season tickets just so he can say he has a dancing bear as president/general manager.

Whatever, Millen’s out and the Lions are now about the business of turning things around. First up: each player taking accountability for their performance: “I don’t think I am the problem,” [quarterback Jon] Kitna said Tuesday before breaking for a five-day vacation during the Lions’ bye week. “I am all about winning. If they feel that it’s necessary, then so be it, but I don’t think I am the problem. I think I am into these games.” Continue Reading
